Thanks for using the board! I've often thought about a co-op around here (Austin, TX area).
I was thinking of using a model similar to the following model:
- Get 5 restaurants to supply relatively clean oil
- Filter it to 10 microns
- I'd sell for about $1/gal, but its $2+ here believe it or not
- Split the cash 7 ways. Restaurants each get a part, 1 part for my time, 1 part for expenses.
This would really encourage restaurants to provide cleaner oil, 'cause they could loose out if they get cut for lower quality. My only concern is that the traffic and volume could quickly warrant an industrial zoned property.
What were your thoughts?
